Summary
Both are rich in red pigment in their roots and are dyed at high temperatures. Like cochineal, the red pigment can be extracted well by adding vinegar. The Indian madder has a higher amount of pigment (alizarin) than the other and is used for dyeing Persian carpets.
Dyeing method
It is placed in a fine cloth and boiled for about 30 minutes, then dyed after the second liquid.
