Let's dive into the world of one of the most unique Japanese dyes - Kakishibu! This workshop focuses on Kakishibu (persimmon) and Washi (Japanese paper). When we use Kakishibu on Washi paper, the contrast between orange-brown Kakishibu and paper will be awesome.
Teacher - Morito Yamazaki
Mr. Yamazaki is a professional botanical dyer and owner of a dyeing studio called "Kusakiya" located in Gunma prefecture. His grandfather was famous as a dyer who revived botanical dyeing in Japan, and his Katazome works are very popular in Japan. If you are interested, please notify us through this Google Form. |

・Lecture on the uniqueness of Kakishibu and Washi
・Doing Surikomi dyeing with Kakishibu on Washi

・Using mordant and enjoying the change of the color
・While drying it, we will give you a Q&A session and a company tour
