Summary and Dyeing method
Cutch is an extract rich in tannin from the Rhizophoraceae plant that makes up the mangroves that grow near the mouths of subtropical rivers. In Japan, it is also called tangara (丹殻) and has been used for dyeing and leather tanning. The bark is crushed into a powder, so all you have to do is dissolve it in hot water and use it for dyeing.
